Embrace China’s First-ever “Space Day”:The Popular Science Activities Held by Teenagers in QLM Wowed the Audience

On April 24th, a large crowd of people gathered on the square of Qian Xuesen Library & Museum. Activities related to aerospace including shooting contest of straw rockets; display of growing plants in space; models of massive water rockets; simulation of Mars’s earthand demonstration of 4-axis flying plane attracted the pedestrians and wowed the audience.




The display and performance were brought by teenage innovation teams from space-featured schools in Shanghai. On April 24th,China was approved by the State Council to have its first “Space Day”. To mark its first-ever space day, Qian Xuesen Library & Museum, together with Shanghai Society of Astronautics and Shanghai Scientific Innovation Research Center, held“My Space Dream: Teenage Space Works Presentation and Performance”.

The coming of the first “Space Day” arouses a trend of all people, especially of teenagers to learn aerospace spirit and to evoke enthusiasm of exploration and innovation. Qian Xuesen Library & Museum will also carry forward QianXuesen’s legacy and encourage teenagers to advocate science and to explore nature and space.
