Shanghai Jiao Tong University Signed Cooperation and Joint Development Agreement with Shanghai Science & Technology Museum

    Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (including Qian Xuesen Library & Museum, Tsung Dao LEE Library, Shanghai Jiao Tong University History Museum, C.Y. Tung Maritime Museum, Cheng Ji Gallery and other related agencies) held a ceremony to sign the strategic cooperation framework agreement to enhance the overall strength and competitiveness of integrated culture and technology. Zhu Jian, Deputy Secretary of the School Party, and Wang Xiaoming, Director of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum jointly signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties and the signing ceremony was presided by Chen Jin, Director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library.

    Zhu Jian reviewed the museology development of the 120-year-old Jiao Tong University, and spoke highly of the important role of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum in science promotion for the public. He also pointed out that Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Science & Technology Museum should grasp the opportunity and display respective advantages to build a bigger platform of spreading scientific and humanistic spirit, as well as to promote the brilliance of excellent culture and science among the public. 

    Wang Xiaoming expressed his appreciation to the vigorous support of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to Shanghai Science & Technology Museum in professional skills including scientific and technical literature, information technology and digital media industry. With the increasing public demand, scientific popularization is becoming more and more specialized. Shanghai Science & Technology Museum is confronted with increasing pressure and challenge. Based on the cooperation and joint development agreement signed with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, comprehensive advantages will be established to inject new vitality to various aspects of Science & Technology Museum in the foreseeable future.

    It’s reported that both parties will explore the mode of long-term cooperation in information exchange, library cooperation, personnel exchange and voluntary service, integrate both institutions’ resources, seek integration of science and culture, and bring ultimate benefits to teachers, students and the public.
