Travelling Exhibition to China Science and Technology Museum

The new travelling exhibition "Qian Xuesen's Life Story" unveils on November 9 in China Science and Technology Museum this month. It features over 80 objects from QLM collection and many are the first time exhibited in Beijing. The exhibition will last till December 23 in Beijing and will travel to Inner Mongolia afterwards. 

Qian Xuesen is not only a household name in China, but also a symbol of backbone for his dedication and sacrifice to the motherland. Dr. Qian has a firm ideal and conviction and always regards loving the motherland and the people as the highest realm of life. He consciously associates personal ambitions with the nation’s rejuvenation. Being open-minded and indifferent to fame and fortune, Qian Xuesen is an outstanding example of patriotic intellectuals and is known as the “people’s scientist”.

As an outstanding scientist at home and abroad, Qian Xuesen made many pioneering contributions in the field of technology science such as aerodynamics and engineering cybernetics. As soon as the new China was founded, Qian Xuesen resolutely returned to the motherland and bravely shouldered the responsibility of creating China’s air and space industry, making great contributions to China’s national defence science and technology. In his later years, Qian Xuesen made unremitting efforts in a few scientific fields, which guides China’s economic construction and social development.
