New Exhibition Unveils Qian Xuesen’s Life Choices

A decade has slipped away since the father of China’s air and space industry- Qian Xuesen leaves us. Qian Xuesen Library & Museum unveils a new exhibition on December 10, 2019 to commemorate his life and legacy. The exhibition “To Choose: The Aspiration and Belief of Qian Xuesen” will last around five months till April 26th, 2020.

 

This exhibition aspires to answer the question of how Qian Xuesen reconciles the two identities:  ‘a scientist’ and ‘a communist’ throughout his life. The curator explores the question from Qian Xuesen’s four life periods: teenager years, two decades in the United States, from 1955-1982, and late years, to vividly show his life choices and personal growth. The four parts are not the end of the story. The exhibition extends the message from the gallery to a wider audience by a more diverse expression through education programs, public participation and creative engagement.
