Qian Xuesen Spirit Lecture Group Delivers Lectures in Multiple Locations During Summer 2025

        On the morning of August 1, about forty teachers and students from the College of Air and Space Science of the National University of Defense Technology came to visit the Qian Xuesen Library & Museum of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

        Li Fang, the executive director of Qian Xuesen Library & Museum and member of Qian Xuesen Spirit Lecture Group, took “Strategic Scientist QIAN Xuesen” as the theme,starting from Qian Xuesen's identity as a strategic scientist, analyzing the three aspects of “prospective judgment, interdisciplinary understanding, and organizational and leadership ability of large-scale regimental operations” with vivid cases. Through these cases, the students were able to restore the life of Qian Xuesen, who was highly decorated, indifferent to fame and fortune, serving the motherland, and selfless dedication. In the interactive exchange session, Li Fang also answered the questions of “Why is Qian Xuesen Library & Museum a memorial hall but named as a library”, “How to introduce the spirit of scientists into the study of professional disciplines” and other issues of concern to teachers and students.

        On the morning of August 1, Li Fang gave a lecture on the theme of “Strategic Scientist Qian Xuesen” in the Lecture Hall of Qian Xuesen Library & Museum.

        On the afternoon of July 17, Qian Yonggang delivered a lecture on the topic of “Qian Xuesen's Dream Journey of Serving the Nation with Science and Technology” at Technology Park of Inspur Group.

        On July 4, Zhang Wenjun delivered a lecture on the topic of “Qian Xuesen, a Paragon of Patriotic Intellectuals” at the 4th Cross-Strait (Wanshouyan) Science and Technology Week.

        On July 22, Xu Na delivered a lecture on the topic of “The Spirit of Scientists in Collections” at Qian Xuesen Library & Museum.

        On July 22, Lu Minjie delivered a lecture on the topic of “Exploring the Story of Qian Xuesen's Lifelong Growth from Life Choices” at Qian Xuesen Library & Museum.

        Since the summer of 2025, under the leadership of Prof. Qian Yonggang , son of Qian Xuesen and director of Qian Xuesen Library & Museum, the members of Qian Xuesen Spirit Lecture Group have already started more than ten lectures inside and outside of the Museum to convey Qian Xuesen's scientific thinking, patriotic sentiment and strategic thinking to science and technology workers, teachers and students of primary and secondary schools, as well as young people in remote and poor areas, covering more than 900 people. These lectures not only promote the scientist's spirit of “patriotism, innovation, truth-seeking, dedication, synergy, and education”, but also inspire more and more young people to follow the example of Qian Xuesen, integrate their personal ideals into the development of the country, and climb up the scientific and technological peaks.
