Sino-US Middle School Students Aerospace Summer Camp Concludes Successfully in Shanghai

From June 11 to 15, the Sino-US Middle School Students Aerospace Summer Camp wrapped up its five-day tour in Shanghai. Co-hosted by China Aerospace Foundation and Qian Xuesen Library & Museum of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the summer camp built a communication platform for young people from China and the United States to get to know each other and explore science together.

Campers visited middle schools in Shanghai including the High School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Tianlin No.3 Middle School for inter-school exchanges with students from Georgetown Preparatory School. They also toured the Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall to appreciate Chinese history and culture, and experience the charm of modern science and technology as well as urban development.

 

Focusing on aerospace themes, the campers visited the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology and Shanghai Aerospace Science Popularization Center, gaining close access to cutting-edge achievements in aerospace engineering and the rapid development of China’s aerospace industry. At the two campuses of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, they explored the university history museums and student innovation center, immersing themselves in the strong scientific and innovative atmosphere of the university. The campers will depart for Beijing to continue the next leg of their journey afterwards.
