QLM’s Permanent Exhibition Wins 2025 Shanghai Excellent Museum Exhibition Award

The renovated permanent exhibition "Qian Xuesen: People's Scientist" has been selected for the 2025 Excellent Museum Exhibitions of Shanghai, after evaluation by the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism (Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics).

The exhibition "Qian Xuesen: People's Scientist" organically integrates Qian Xuesen’s personal image as an outstanding model of patriotic intellectual with the collective portrait of scientific researchers and technicians of New China. By weaving his personal life into a historical narrative, it showcases the development of China’s aerospace industry and the century-long rejuvenation journey of the Chinese nation.

Different from the chronological linear narratives adopted by most memorial halls, this exhibition follows a framework featuring thematic displays, supplemented by chronological accounts, highlighting the distinctive narrative of a scientist memorial museum. Through curated groupings of cultural relics, reconstructed scene settings, and digital multimedia technologies, it delivers an immersive experience. Since its reopening in 2025, QLM has welcomed more than 350,000 visitors sofar.
