2011 marked Qian Xuesen’s centennial birthday. Over the past year, various colorful commemorative activities were have been held all over the country in memory of this science master’s great contribution to China’s scientific and technological undertakings development as well as the modernization modernized construction of national defense and army, thus to call upon people to learn from his patriotism and lofty quality sentiments featured by unceasing struggle for his country and people. In retrospect of Qian Xuesen’s whole life which witnessed almost a century, we could see his loyalty to the Party, the country and the people, his practical working style, his pioneering spirit of innovation and his demeanor featured by excellency in both skill and morality. He served as a good model for practicing socialist core values.

In the year of Qian Xuesen’s centennial birthday, Qian Xuesen library was established and opened in Shanghai Jiaotong University on December 11 , 2011. Hu Jintao, former General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chinese President and Chairman of Central Military Commission, made significant instructions at the opening ceremony.
