The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the World Political Parties Summit was held in Beijing on July 6 via videolink. Over 500 leaders of political parties and political organizations from more than 160 countries and over 10,000 representatives of political parties attended the summit, which is themed on "For the People's Wellbeing: the Responsibility of Political Parties." Sheng Yi, vice director of Qian Xuesen Library & Museum, was invited to attend the online summit in Shanghai.
Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese President, attended the summit in Beijing and delivered a keynote speech. As an important multilateral diplomatic event held on the occasion of the centenary of the CPC, the summit allowed the CPC and political parties from all over the world to strengthen exchange of experience in state governance and administration, jointly cope with challenges brought by the changes unseen in a century and the COVID-19 pandemic, enhance the vision and capacity of seeking happiness for the people, promote world peace and development, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
