From August 23 to August 26, the 10th Chinese Exposition of Museums and Relevant Products and Technologies (MPT-EXPO), guided by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and co-hosted by the China Museums Association and the People's Government of Hohhot, was held at the Chi-le-chuan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Hohhot. The theme of this expo was "High-Quality Development of Museums: Emphasizing Both Research and Education, Integrating the Digital and the Physical."
As the largest and the most influential museum industry biennial exhibition in China and even Asia, this expo attracted 552 museums and related enterprises to participate. Qian Xuesen Library & Museum made its debut at the expo, bringing a themed exhibition area titled "Majestic Jiao Tong University, Banner of Science" and a youth education experience called " Amazing Museum".These showcased the history of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's cultural and museum endeavors and the latest achievements of QLM in terms of its research, exhibition and education.
Li Fang, QLM’s executive director, was invited on August 24 to make a keynote speech at the "Curation and Exhibition: New Horizons and Trends in Exhibition Display Seminar and the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Display Art Committee of the China Museums Association". She was also invited to be a guest at the "100 Hours: Spotlight on the Expo of Museums" live broadcast. She joined Professor Pan Li, the Honorary Director of the China Media Museum, to engage in a conversation with the host about the "Features and Resources of University Museums," discussing the advantages and practices of university museums in China's museum industry.
The expo spans over 4 days, with a total exhibition area exceeding 50,000 square meters, showcasing the fruitful achievements of China's museum industry. A series of academic activities and over 40 public events have been organized in conjunction with the exhibition, opening a window for the public to understand cultural heritage and engage with ancient civilizations. Since its opening, it has attracted keen attention and active participation from the public, with the number of visitors reaching 350,000.
